They restore the ability to chew and speak clearly, and support the facial structure that collapses inward when teeth are lost. Implant-retained dentures, which clip onto implants rather than resting on the gum, are an option where more stability is needed.

Fitting and adjustment
New dentures almost always need small adjustments in the first weeks. This is expected, not a sign something is wrong.
Good to know
- Speaking and eating with new dentures takes practice. Start with softer foods and read aloud to adjust more quickly.
- Clean dentures daily and leave them out overnight unless told otherwise, so the gums can recover.
- Gums and bone change shape over time — dentures need periodic relining or remaking to keep fitting well.
